Thrawn Amigurumi by Allison Hoffman

Allison Hoffman is one of the queens of amigurumi. You can find her work everywhere from Conan to Entertainment Weekly and she’s even got a book coming out. If you don’t know what amigurumi is, check out her website.

In short, it is the reason I never got into crochet. Amigurumi is “the Japanese art of crocheting small animals or toys”. That said, if I ever started crocheting Star Wars figures, I know I will never stop. Take Allison’s Grand Admiral Thrawn:

This piece actually comes from a post on Craftster.org back in January. She mentions in the post that she did Thrawn for her nephew, who wanted him and his “pet thingy”. It reminds me that as awesome as some of the stuff we make ourselves, it’s pretty cool what are loved ones do for us and our Star Wars “thingy” đŸ˜‰
